At CBA Envisioning Equal Justice Summit

I’ve been lucky to be able to get to some interesting workshops and conferences that interest and educate me professionally. “Lucky” might be a bit strong, or at least coincidental, for the most part: Attending and learning at professional development sessions is part of my job.

But “lucky” is an appropriate word to describe how I felt last month, when I was invited to attend and report on a conference–a Summit, actually–on a subject not directly connected to my work but on a theme that interests me greatly and that, for awhile, has seemed some distance away from my day-to-day work.

I attended the CBA’s Envisioning Equal Justice Summit, and I wrote a set of blog posts on it over at Slaw. Underlying or framing those blog posts are some Storify posts. Here’s the first, covering an event to help convey the real impact of a thinly-stretched justice system on already thinly-stretched lives.
